In TOES Town industry serves the needs of the residents though employment and as an institutional part of Town life. Citizens appreciate the collaborative spirit of local industry in solving problems when they arise and supporting the popular decisions of TOES Town residents. Local industry sees that its in TOES Town for the long haul and shares the good times and the bad, helping out whenever necessary to keep the community healthy and economically sound. It keeps its cotton-pickin nose out of politics.

SCN/$GN $mart Development--Eco-Industrial Parks
The President's Council on Sustainable Development and the Port of Cape Charles Sustainable Technologies Industrial Park (an EIP) co-sponsored an Eco-Industrial Park Workshop at Cape Charles VA October 17-18, 1996. The eco-industrial parks represented at the meeting reflected a broad spectrum of goals, physical plants, managing entities and progress, illustrating that there is more than one way to conceptualize and implement the concept. The case studies are short summaries provided by each attendee at the workshop.
